ANY HELMET IS BETTER THAN NONE!!!
Helmets should be replaced when…
- They have been in a crash—some helmets can withstand more than one impact—check
the manufacturers’ instructions to see when you need to replace your helmet
- They are damaged—cracks, dents, broken or frayed straps
- You have had it for too many years—helmets lose their protective ability as plastics
become brittle and pads wear down
- You have outgrown it—a helmet that does not fit well will not provide adequate protection
